Nepal secured a top-four spot by finishing second in Group A with 3 points. The Rhinos defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in their opening match, while their game against India was washed out.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, advanced to the Super Four with 2 points, finishing second in Group B. They defeated hosts Malaysia by 94 runs in their opener but lost to Bangladesh by 28 runs in the second match.
