Protests erupted at CMR Engineering College in Telangana’s Medchal over alleged bathroom recordings of students. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation following safety concerns raised by studentslolliplay, media reports showed.

Students from the girls hostel staged a protest alleging that hostel cooking staff had recorded videos of them in the bathrooms. Chanting slogans of “We want justice”, the students demanded immediate action, drawing attention to serious lapses in hostel safety, the reports said.

The protest that took place outside CMR Engineering College grew rapidly as representatives from various student unions joined in solidarity. Students expressed concerns not only about the alleged video recordings but also about the behavior of the warden and hostel staff.

Some preliminary inquiries indicated that the students had accused four members of the cooking staff, along with the female warden, of failing to ensure their safety and well-being. “There is yet to be clarity on the alleged videos, but we are taking all aspects into consideration,” the official added.

The media reports said that the local police, responding to the incident, confirmed that they would register a case and launch an investigation based on the complaints. “Our women Sub-Inspector and officials visited the spot and initiated an inquiry,” said a police official. “Several students raised complaints about the warden and hostel staff, alleging negligence and misconduct. We are filing an FIR and have started an investigation into these allegations.”

While the students expressed partial satisfaction with the initial action taken by authoritieslolliplay, they reiterated the need for a thorough and transparent investigation. “The matter is being taken up seriously, and we will ensure justice is served,” assured the police.
